Catherine R. Sheldon, 84, of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, June 22, 2000 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was born in Sevierville on Oct. 9, 1915, the daughter of Ephfrin and Julie Ann McCarter, now deceased.
She lived in Oliver Springs most of her life, where she worked for 12 years at Reeves Cafe and at other restaurants and motels. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Sheldon is survived by her daughter, Chloe Russell, of Oliver Springs; her son, Clarence T. Green and his wife, Margaret, also of Oliver Springs; two step-daughters, Joyce Yaste of Oak Ridge and Betty Freels of Powell; a brother, Carl McCarter of Seymour; and by five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Enek and Bonnie Breeden of Oliver Springs were considered special friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheldon was preceded in death by her husbands, Kimsey Green and Lawrence Sheldon, a grandson, Anthony Green, and other brothers and sisters.
The funeral was held Saturday night, June 24, at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. The Rev. Freddie Vann and the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiated.
A graveside service was held Sunday afternoon, June 25, at Oliver Springs Cemetery.
