BURNS , ESTHER SUSANNA "ANNA - age 102, of Maryville, formerly of Townsend, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2001, at Maryville Health Care Center. She was born October 25, 1899, in Townsend, and was a member of Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church in Townsend for 87 years. Preceded in death by husband, William Lee Burns ; daughter, Margaret Hurst ; son, William M. Burns ; grandsons, Gary Lee and James Allen Hurst ; parents, Will and Delia McCampbell; brothers, Earl and William McCampbell and son-in-law, Robert Irwin. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Ilene and Harry Strattor of Louisville, and Dee and Ralph Irwin of Maryville; daughter, Anna Lee Irwin of Alcoa; daughter-in-law, Martha Burns of Augusta, Georgia; son-in-law, James Hurst of Walland; grandchildren, Harriett Pangle, Sharon Headrick, Barbara Nichols, Linda Irwin, Trudy Burchfield, Roger Irwin, Janie Witt and Bill Burns ; nine great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Dr. Allen Raines and Rev. Rick Clowers officiating. Interment to follow at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
