Jean Whaley Davis, age 81 of Pigeon Forge, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010, with her final days spent surrounded by family. She had a Sugarlands heritage, since she was born to the late Rennie Whaley and Mintha Huskey Whaley who were from the Sugarlands. She attended Gatlinburg-Pittman High School and was a lifetime member of Pigeon Forge First Baptist Church. Among Jean’s greatest enjoyments were gardening and spending time with family. She was a caregiver to her family, especially her mother whom she cared for until she passed away.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, brother Conley Whaley, and sisters Ruby Sutton, Lena Herman, Louise Hice, and Edith Trevena.

Husband of 54 years: Gene Davis
Daughter and son-in-law: Sandy and Mike Ellis
Grandchildren: Mandy Wood and husband Scott, Andrew Ellis
Step-grandchild: Chad Ellis
Great-grandchildren: Madelyn Wood, Austin Wood
Step-great-granddaughter: Courtney Ellis
Funeral service 2 PM Thursday in the Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel in Pigeon Forge with Rev. W. W. Cope officiating. Interment will follow in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
