Zaley A. Huskey Whaley, 89, of Sevierville went home to be with her Lord and other loved ones that are waiting for her in Heaven. Zaley began her journey on September 10, 2005 at Sevier County Health Care Center.
As a charter member of the Oak City Baptist Church she was a member of the Senior Ladies Class of the church where she served her Lord and her community.
On March 9, 1916 Zaley was born in Sevier County to the late West and Molly Ogle Huskey. Zaley was one of six children born to this couple.
Besides her parents, Zaleys’s husband of 70 years, Knaffl Whaley; son, Roy Whaley; granddaughter, Kathy Whaley; brother, David Howard Huskey; sisters, Clora Ogle, Zella Hurst, and Lenora Huskey were waiting for Zaley to join them in Heaven.
Leaving behind to mourn her passing, but celebrating the life she lived are her children, Kenneth Whaley and wife Lois, daughter-in-law Anna Whaley, Earnestine Ann Romines and husband Harry; sister, Iva Whaley; special niece Joann Whaley Finchum; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren will miss Zaley. Besides the immediate family Zaley will be missed by many other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of Zaley’s life will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2005 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Fleeger and Rev. Jeff Hickman officiating. The family will meet at Rawlings Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 13 to go to Shiloh Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday at Rawlings Funeral Home.
Grandsons, Steve, Billy, Roger, Rick, David and David, and great grandsons Tyler and Brad are honored to serve as pallbearers for their beloved Grandma.
