Melvin Davis of Madisonville, passed away at noon, Sunday, Sept. 5, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a preacher for 16 years and attended Ebenezer Ball Play Church. He was retired from Lynn Brothers Lumber Company after 18 years. He was 66. Preceded in death by: son, Joe Davis; and parents, George and Liddie Crowder Davis. Survivors include: loving wife of 46 years-Joyce Marie Ogle Davis; Daughter and partner-Loni Harris and Jeannie Baker of Madisonville; Daughter and son-in-law-Greta and Randy Harris of Tellico Plains; Sons and daughters-in-law-Terry and Evelyn Davis of Madisonville; and Matt and Laura Davis of Vonore; Grandchildren and spouses-Michael and Niki Harris, Max and Jennifer Harris, Sandy and Chad Walker, Deanna Harris, Terry Davis, Karrie Davis, Andrew Harris, Lacy Harris, Melanie Davis and Lori Davis; Great-grandchildren-Kaylee Walker, Joseph Davis and Isabella Harris; Sisters-Valerie Wright of Pikeville; and Judy Moses of Tellico Plains; Brothers-Dillard Davis of Tellico Plains; Dollen Davis of Madisonville; and Grady Davis of Sweetwater; Several nieces and nephews.
