He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wanda June Laster; a daughter and son-in-law, Kaylene and Edward Smith, South Boardman, MI; sons and daughter-in-law, Edward and Delores Laster, Royal Oak, MI, and David Laster of the Persia community; three grandsons, Adam Laster, Timothy Laster and Elijah Laster; three granddaughters, Emily Laster, Christina Smith and Sally Moore; a great-granddaughter, Lydia Laster; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Opal Lauderback, Greeneville, Helen and Roy Bass, Hendersonville. Funeral services were held Friday, June 21, 2002, at Kiser Funeral Home, Bulls Gap Chapel, with Rev. John McPherson officiating. Interment was in Persia Cemetery.
