Phillip Roger Ball, age 55, of Newport, passed away Monday, February 13, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Stella E. Ball, and brother, Rooney Ball.
He is survived by his daughter, Stella E. Ball, and her mother and his loving friend, Doris J. Coggins; his step-children, Misty, Sarah, and Angela, and their children that called him "Papaw."
He is also survived by his four sisters, Geri Henderson, Frankie Large, Polly Trent, and Cricket Layman; six brothers, Rev. James "Hister" Ball, Shorty Ball, Thomas Ball, Jewel Ball, Rev. Larry Ball, and Terry Ball; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Glenn Ball officiating.
Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, L/Cpl Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military rites.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral.
