LONG, JACK DAVID - of Cocoa, Fla., went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2003. Jack, formerly of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., was born on April 1, 1950 and moved to Brevard County in 1971 where he began working for Watson Paving, Inc. Jack was an active member and deacon at Orsino Baptist Church on Merritt Island. Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Long. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Long daughter, Le Ann Knapp (Chris) sons, Billy Long (Michelle) and Jeff Long, all of Cocoa parents, Remes & Kathryn Long of Strawberry Plains sister, Carolyn Mills (Gary) of Strawberry Plains grandchildren, Lauren Britt, Mason Britt, Chase Knapp, Julia Long, Jackson Long, all of Coca and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Viera, Fla. and interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens on US 1 in Rockledge. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to Victory Junction Gang Camp 311 Branson Mill Road, Randleman, NC 27317 or call 336-498-9055.
