EDDIE "BIG MOTHER" PINKSTON SHUMATE SHOCK NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - Eddie "Big Mother" Pinkston Shumate Shock, 98, passed peacefully Monday June 10, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Eddie was born on January 17, 1915, in Chireno, Texas. She is preceded in death by her first husband Otis Lee Shumate and her second husband Thomas Henry Shock; her son Ernest Hays Shumate; and her grandson Stephen Matthew Shumate. Eddie is survived by one brother Sydney Pinkston; one daughter Marion Shumate Winslow; grandchildren Bicky Winslow O'Neal (Michael), Debbie Lee Winslow, Kathy Winslow Bearden (Scott Porter), Laurie Shumate Allen (Gary), Sloan Shock, Doug Shock (Jamie), and Sheri Jurecek (Bryan); great-grandchildren Randi and Rodi O'Neal, Krystal, Ray Lynn and Tandra Lee Bearden, Claire Allen, Kelcey Garcia, Kaelyn Claire, Leslie and Ty Jurecek; great-great grandchildren Vian and Sol Lee Ozuna. Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be held at Henry Thomae Funeral Home in San Benito Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 1 p.m. till 7 p.m. with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
