Miller, 70, of Newport, born December 2, 1929, passed away July 23, 2000, after a lingering illness, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a member of the Centerview Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Hardy Clevenger; mother, Monnie Clevenger; granddaughter, Kristen Elizabeth Banks; and brother, Jimmy Clevenger. She is survived by her husband, Avery H. Miller of Newport; daughter, Linda Holt; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Dale and Alton Sane; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Gary and Teresa Miller; daughters, Phyllis Cabell and Bonnie Miller, all of Newport; three special sons-in-law, Larry Holt, Jeff Banks and Alton Sane, all of Newport; sister, Margaret Holdway of Alcoa; brother, Robert Clevenger of Morristown; granddaughters, Sherry Miller and Traci Miller, both of Newport; granddaughter and her husband, Stacie and Randall Davis of Alabama; grandson and his wife, Jeff and Ericka Miller of Newport; grandsons, Greg Miller, Jason Miller, Joshua Miller, Kevin Holt, Chad Banks, David Banks, Michael Sane, and Travis Sane, all of Newport; great-grandchildren, Taylor Davis of Alabama, and Hannah Miller and Hayley Miller, both of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Centerview Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Stump and Rev. Hal Crockett officiating, with burial in the Miller Family Cemetery at Liberty Hill.
