George Leroy Cokins II, 52, died suddenly Monday, April 18, 2005, in Virginia Beach, Va., from natural causes. He was a native of Troy, Ohio, and had lived in Knoxville, Tenn., and in Satsuma. He was a truck driver with Patterson Trucking Company and was a U.S. Army veteran. He had also worked in the construction industry. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Cokins. He is survived by two sons, George L. Cokins III, and Dustin Cokins ; his parents, George L. and Norma K. Cokins of Satsuma; one sister, Janis DePierre of Ohio. No funeral services are planned at this time. Private family calling hours will be held Friday at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
