Mary Holt Denton of Newport, TN and Charleston, SC peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Charles H. Denton. She retired from American Enka as well as Belk Stores, both of which she worked alongside her husband, Charles. She moved to Charleston, SC and lived with her son, Jeff Denton, after Charles passed away. Her sweet kindness is her legacy. Anyone who knew her, loved her and her infectious smile and laugh. She was graceful and elegant and lived a life that prized family and God above all. She was a member of the very loving Northport Baptist Church, which never forgot her and sent very much looked-forward-to bulletins every week to Charleston. She is survived by her son, Jeff; daughter-in-love, Prisca; three granddaughters, Jennifer, Madison and Mahli; four great-grandchildren; extended family and many wonderful friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Northport Baptist Church in Newport, TN; Amedisys Hospice in Charleston, SC; or Coastal Community Church in Charleston, SC. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Manes Funeral Home in Newport, TN.
