U.S. Veteran Jimmie Wilson, age 66 of Cosby, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, June 27, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith. Jimmie was in the army, worked as a truck driver, construction (Millwright), and an electrician. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his grandson and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Aileen Wilson; brother, Randall Wilson; and grandparents, Effie Rollins and Dave and Katie Bullington. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Wilson; daughter, Tina Wilson (Jamie Carr); grandson, Elijah Briggs all of Cosby; sisters, Joyce (Charles) Bowers of Morristown and Mary Ann (R.L.) Leatherwood of Hartford; brother, Ronnie Wilson of Mississippi; mother and father-in-law, Roy H. and Vennis Cate of White Pine; sister-in-law, Sharon Davis of Talbott; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Mark Milner, Ricky and JoAnn Franklin and The Goddesses. A special “Thank You” to Cherie King, Amber Norris, and Debbie Williams with Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice and to all who helped with his care. Funeral Services will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the Manes Funeral Home West Chapel. Burial will 10:00 am Friday, June 30, 2017 in the McMillian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Bowers, Mike Ogle, Dale McMahan, Jon Coats, Mark Milner, and Sonny Leatherwood. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday at Manes Funeral Home West Chapel prior to the funeral services.
