STAFFORD, WILLIAM HERMAN - age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, December 5, 1999 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stafford was a loving husband and the greatest father anyone could have. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Jessie Mae Stafford of Knoxville; sons, Danny Stafford, Billy Stafford, Jimmy Stafford, all of Knoxville; daughters, Vickie Smith of Greenville, SC, Mary Valentine of Heiskell, and Judy Chudley of Knoxville; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Clifford Stafford of Knoxville; sisters, Zella Mae Neff of Asheville, NC, JoAnn Cope of Bradenton, Fla., Gertrude Robinette, Bobbie Wells, both of Chicago, Ill. Mr. Stafford is at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, where the family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grove Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie McGill and Rev. Clyde Haynes officiating.
