Venia Fox Smith, of Life Care Center of Greeneville, died September 6 at Life Care Center of Greeneville. She was a housewife and a member of Oven Creek United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd E. Fox and Bonnie Jocy Thomas; her husband, Wayne Smith; a son, Gordon Smith; a sister, Geneva Keller; and a brother, G.A. Fox. Survivors: four sisters, Mildred Sollberger of Parma, Ohio, Omeda Holt of Kingsport, Blanche Smith of Greeneville, and Reva Dean Rice of Bybee; and three brothers, Thomas Fox of Parma, Ohio, Carl W. Fox, of Athens, Georgia, and Dale Fox of Newport. The funeral will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, at Kiser Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Robert Brewer Jr. officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 9, in Oven Creek Cemetery. The body is at Kiser Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday for an 11 a.m. committal service.
