He was born in Laurel County on April 21, 1952 to Isaac and Anna Mae Parsley Elkins, who preceded him in death. He was a mechanic and was affiliated with the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife Sabrina Slate Elkins; five children, Ricky Elkins of London, Kelli Loretta Cusick and husband Warren of London, Nickie King and husband Edward of Sevierville, Tenn., Melanie Paris and husband Guy of Newport, Tenn., and Amanda Hobrook and husband Daniel of Grayson, Ky.; a brother, John Elkins of LaFayette, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Maggie, Christian, Destinee, Ashley, Logan, Brandon, Jacob, Brittney and Harley. Also surviving is his former wife, Joan McKnight of London. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at Bowling Funeral Home in London with Edwin King, Carman Brewer and Ernest Blair officiating.
