BOWLING, RALPH RICHARD - age 77, of Knoxville, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at his home. He was a faithful member of Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle, Veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served on the USS Curtis, member of Oriental Lodge #453 and past master of the Woodward Masonic Lodge #757. He was also retired from the University of Tennessee, where he was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Veda Bowling of Knoxville children, Rick and wife, Ellie Bowling of Knoxville, Jackie Yashan of Ashburn, Virginia, and Mark and wife, Karen Bowling of Thomaston, Georgia grandchildren, Dusty Bowling, Christopher Bodgwic, Ashley Yashan, Terry Bowling, and Ben Yashan great-grandchild, Hunter Bowling brother, Paul Bowling of Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. Special friends and neighbors. Heartfelt thanks to Baptist Hospice, Dr. Dobbs office. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Bro. Albert Barlow officiating and eulogy by Rick Freiwald. Interment will follow in the Bowling Family Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers: Don Douglas, Dusty Bowling, Denton Glaspie, Arie Dyer, Rick Freiwald, and Jeff Leonard. Honorary Pallbearer: Walker Dean Garner. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Hospice, 137 Blount Ave., Knoxville, TN 37920. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
