Ellen D. Hill, age 67, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, November 29, 2010 at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born May 31, 1943 to the late Wilbur and Phyllis Nicholas and has resided in Kingsport for most of her life.
Ellen enjoyed many things in her life, some of them being gardening, cross-stitching and needlepoint. But she really loved spending time with her grandchildren, where she would color with them in their coloring books.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Marcia Parsons and infant brother Evan Nicholas.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James L. Hill, sons James B and wife Laura of Powell, TN, Barry and wife Jackie of Blountville, Scott and wife Kolette of Sevierville, TN, grandsons, Brad, Nick, Levi and Abraham, granddaughters, Lexi and Gretta, sisters, Sandra Williams of NY and Sharyn O'Connell of CT and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6-8pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8pm with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating. Graveside services will be Friday, December 3, 2010 at 1pm at East Lawn Memorial Park where family and friends are asked to gather by 12:45pm.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wellmont Hospice, especially to Melissa and Kristina.
