Dennis Lee McCarter, age 53, a resident of Oak Ridge, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 14, 2016, Dennis proudly served his country in the Navy as a senior chief and retired from the Navy with 20 years of service. He was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael McCarter; by his mother, Mildred Vann McCarter; and by a daughter, Nicole McCarter, Dennis is survived by his sons, Eran McCarter and wife, Angelica of St. Louis, MO, and Ryan McCarter of Jacksonville, FL; by grandchildren, Gabriel and Vanessa McCarter of Louisville, KY and Kayleigh McCarter of St Louis MO; by brothers, Ernest McCarter and wife, Angie and Steve McCarter both of Oliver Springs; by sisters, Rozella McCarter and Carolyn Sue Sigler also of Oliver Springs; and by a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, Monday, July 18, 2016 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Premier Sharp Funeral Home, The funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Darrell Vann officiating. Burial and graveside services with full military honors will be held, Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 a,m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton, TN.
