Earlene Phillips Jenkins, age 58, of the Fines Creek Community, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at MedWest Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Cora Mae Owens Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Mitzi Phillips and a niece, Katie Phillips. Earlene worked as a receptionist for Dr. Eugene Harpe and later Dr. Ted Howell and was a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, William "Bill" Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24 at Cove Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Ferguson and Rev. Gary Putnam officiating. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 11 a.m. on Tuesday prior to services at the church.
