THOMPSON, EARVEL - age 89, of Maryville, passed away Friday afternoon, January 15, 1999, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Six Mile Baptist Church. He was a longtime farmer in Blount County. Preceded in death by: parents, Benjamin and Florence Miller Thompson; four brothers; and two sisters. Survivors: wife of 65 years, Roxie Edith Thompson; daughter, Dean Cooper of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Alda Thompson of Knoxville, Gene and Louise Thompson of Maryville; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 1999, at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bill White and Rev. Fred H. Garner officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m., Sunday in Carpenter's Campground Methodist Church Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Six Mile Baptist Church, 4337 Montvale Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
