He is preceded in death by his parents, Otha and Polly Ogle Matthews; brothers, Edward, Jessie and Ules Matthews and sisters Lucy Parton and Lizzie Matthews. He is survived by his sister-in-law Helen Matthews and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Avalon Hospice. Family and friends will meet at 1 PM Wednesday in McMahan-Stinnett Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev. Mark Kitts, Rev. Ron Richmond and Rev. Jeff Cogdill.
