Arvena Ann Daugherty McGhee, 80, of Kodak went to her heavenly home Thursday, February 23, 2017 to join her loved ones in Heaven. She was born September 2, 1936 in Oliver Springs, TN. She retired after twenty-three years at Wal-Mart in Sevierville. Arvena Ann had a special friend in her hairdresser, Mr. David LeHair, who was with her until the very last breath she took! She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and best friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Dorothy Daugherty; brothers, JR and Warren Daugherty; sister, Martha Ramey; first husband, Jasper Frances Russell; second husband, Woody McGhee; granddaughter, Leyla Michelle; and her son-in-law, Henry Vallejo.
Arvena Ann is survived by 5 children and their spouses, Frances Ann Vallejo, Jasper Lee, Vena and Tim Cunningham, Robin and Larry Colman, Dale and Sharon Russell; 8 grandchildren, Evelyne, Robert, Cynthia, Larry, Julia, Aaron, T.J., and Thomas; 16 great-grandchildren; a very close and special brother-in-law, Gene Ramey; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Saturday, March 4th with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Family and friends will meet at 1 PM Sunday, March 5th at Oliver Springs Cemetery in Oliver Springs, TN for the graveside service and interment.
