Tim Turnbow, 51, of Jonesboro, died suddenly Sept. 17, 2016, from a tragic accident.
He was born in Walnut Ridge on March 22, 1965, to Mr. Sloan and Ann (Clayton) Turnbow of Walnut Ridge. He was of the Methodist belief, and loved cats.
Tim graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and held both a B.S.E and Master's degree from ASU. He was assistant editor of The Times Dispatch newspaper in Walnut Ridge for 12 years, and was a former employee of Thomas and Betts and Hytrol in Jonesboro. Tim was a very caring person with a rare blood type, which enabled him to become an organ donor that improved the lives of almost 50 people.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gus and Marie Turnbow of Lynn, and Lester and Bernice Clayton; and an uncle, Denny Clayton, all of Saffell.
He is survived by his parents, Sloan and Ann Turnbow of Walnut Ridge; two sisters, Dr. Valerie Sloan and husband Dr. Anthony Sloan of Memphis, and Dr. Lauren Turnbow of Daphne, Ala.; a brother, Lance Turnbow, Esq. and wife Dr. Kimberly Turnbow of New Braunfels, Texas; nieces; Olivia and Evie Sloan; nephews, Jack and Jake Sloan, and Lincoln and Davis Turnbow; an uncle, Roger Clayton and wife Janice of Saffell; and a special friend, Cheryl Delegemenos of Jonesboro.
Funeral is today at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, Hwy. 361 (111 Cedar Ridge Rd.) in Pocahontas. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery at Lynn following a short reception immediately after services. Dr. Gary Winters will officiate under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Homes of Walnut Ridge and Lynn.
Brandon Butler, Gordon Drennan, Tony Amos, Ronnie Hagood, Bill Anderson and Gary Little will honor Tim as pallbearers.
