He was born July 5, 1922, at Jesup, the son of Ernest and Leah Richardson Guthrie. Survivors include two sons, James Guthrie of Arkadelphia and Joe Guthrie of Dexter, Mo.; two daughters, Ellujean Thacker of Smithville and Levenia Huskey of Strawberry; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Smithville Baptist Church. Interment will be in Smithville Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
