Julia A . Huskey of Saffell died Wednesday morning, Dec. 7, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 94 years old.
She was born Aug. 12, 1917, at Coffman to the late Lee William and Mary Ellen Freeman Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Edward Huskey ; her son, Jerry Lee Huskey ; four sisters, Lucy Quarry, JoAlice Davis and Beulah Taylor; and two brothers, Robert Lee Bailey and Frank Bailey.
Mrs . Huskey was married July 14, 1934, at Lynn. She was an active member of Saffell Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, puzzles and cooking. Her most favorite activity was preparing food and having fun with her family.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Carrell Gene and Mildred Huskey , Willie Edward and Eula Mae Huskey , and Rickey Wayne and Levenia Huskey , all of Strawberry; her four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary JoEllen and Carlton Wann of Paragould, Deborah Suzanne and Denton Penn of Green Valley, Ill., Barbara Lou Broadway of Smithville and Kathey Rena and Archie Wilson of Jonesboro; and her half sister, Wilene Davis of Jonesboro. Twenty-five grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her.
The family will receive friends this evening after 5 p.m. at Saffell Missionary Baptist Church, where services will be held at 10 a .m. Saturday. Mike Gaskill will officiate. Burial will follow in Lincoln Ward Cemetery.
Honored to serve her as active pallbearers are Derrick Huskey , Scotty Huskey , Jimmy Huskey , Brett Broadway, David Wann and Tommy Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Huskey , Rusty Huskey , Jeff Huskey , Keith Huskey , Lyle Huskey , Willie Jo Huskey , Corkey Penn and Bart Penn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lincoln-Ward Cemetery Association, 75 Arkansas 361, Strawberry 72469.

Julia A. Huskey of Strawberry passed away quietly Dec. 7, 2011 at her home.
She is survived by her seven children and her devoted care giver.
She was the mother of Mary Wann , grandmother of Tammie Gaskill and Carla Wilcox of Paragould and David Wann of Memphis. Also a large family survives.
