Delmer Morton "Chief", 49, died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born September 14, 1956 in Texas to Calvin Taylor and Ruth Ann Morton. He was a graduate of Bentonville High School. He worked seven years with the Rogers School Bus Transportation Department, many years for the city of Rogers Recreation Department, many years as a truck driver and was a volunteer firefighter and EMT and enjoyed his part time employment with the Hillbilly Smokehouse. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and stockcar racing. He was preceded in death by both parents and an older brother James Morton. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Sheila Morton; three sons, Randy Roper, Michael Huskey and Shane Corter; three daughters, Amanda Powell, LeAnn Sandecki and Katie Payne; two son-inlaws, Chris Powell and Raymond Sandecki; one daughter-in-law, Donna Roper and one sister, Darlene Morton. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Tucks Chapel Cemetery with Reverend Jo Jones officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rollins Funeral Home, online at mem.com. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will always be loved, but never forgotten.
