Miss Nicole Michell Bennett, age 18, of Forrest City, Arkansas died Tuesday, October 19, 2004. Her death was sudden and unexpected.Miss Bennett was born April 6, 1986, in Bethesda, Maryland. She was the daughter of Timothy F. Bennett and Terry Lynn Thorne Astin. Miss Bennett had lived in Forrest City most of her life and was a graduate of Forrest City High School. She worked at Vel-Rich Jewelry store and was attending the Plaza Beauty School. Miss Bennett was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and had helped coach 4 and 5 year old youth soccer.Miss Bennett is survived by mother and father Terry and Joey Astin of Forrest City; father and mother Timothy and Lori Bennett of Braselton, Georgia; one sister, Claudia Astin of the home; two brothers, Justin Moore and Grant Bennett both of Braselton; maternal grandmother, Paula Thorne of Marianna; paternal grandmother, Naomi Bennett of Kingsport, Tennessee; paternal grandparents, Carroll and Jo Anne Astin of Forrest City. Miss Bennett is also survived by her fiancee, James McMahan of Forrest City.Funeral services will be Friday, October 22, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Leon Wilson will be officiating the service with burial to follow at Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Thursday. The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Arkansas Special Olympics-Area 8.
