Jeffrey Dwight James , 30, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, June 22, 2003, in Rogers. He was born Aug. 18, 1972, in Wichita, Kan. He had lived in this area most of his life and was known to his friends as "Road Dog." He married Shannon Dione Stanford on Jan. 9, 1999, at the Brightwater United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard for four years and was employed by Preformed Line as a senior forming operator. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Garfield. He enjoyed four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, laying native stone and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Johannah James ; his paternal stepgrandfather, Clint Edens ; his maternal grandparents, Theron and Hazel Denton; and a nephew, Andrew James. Survivors include his wife, Shannon James ; a daughter, Bailee Dione James of the home; his parents, Randall and Norma James of Garfield, Ark., and Kathy and Mike Patton of Pea Ridge, Ark.; his father, Bill Stegman of Wichita, Kan.; his adoptive mother, Joyce Basgall of Wichita, Kan.; five brothers, Randy James , Kevin Kester, Christopher Kester and Britton James , all of Garfield, and Charles James of Rogers; four sisters, Leila Maness of Garfield, and Brianne Stegman, Shandy Stegman and Rhonda Kelley all of Wichita; his paternal grandfather, Clarence James of Thayer, Mo.; his maternal grandmother, Wiloma Edens of Garfield; and many other relatives. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church of Garfield with Brother Craig Villines and Brother Ellis Doyle. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Avoca, Ark., with arrangements by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark.
