Harold N. Hudson, 70, of Meridian, passed away on March 15, 2009 in Yuma, Ariz. from a heart attack. Graveside Services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Meridian Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. Harold was born in Gooding, Idaho on Oct. 7, 1938 to Neal and Inez Hudson. He attended kindergarten in LA, grade school at Blue Valley in Meridian, Id. and graduated from Meridian High School in 1956. Harold was very active in weight lifting, setting a record and holding it for over 20 years. He met and married Candy Heavrin in 1960. Harold joined the Army in 1960, serving in Korea. After being discharged he worked various jobs until becoming an electrician. He worked with Meridian Electri...il starting his own business. The cities of Meridian and Star contracted with Harold to perform inspections for them prior to his retirement in 2005. Harold began stock car racing in 1966 at Meridian Speedway winning many awards and a 1970 championship. He also flagged and officiated for many years. Harold was a volunteer fireman for Meridian Fire Department for several years. During his retirement Harold spent his winters at Wintergarden Co-op in Yuma, Ariz. He was very active in the park, always helping his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed shuffleboard. Harold was a perfect role model for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed teasing anyone that crossed his path. Harold is survived by his wife of 48 years, Candy and his 5 children, Chip (Vickie) Hudson, Nampa, Id.; Rock (Joli) Hudson of Meridian; Kari (Kent) Wilson, Boise; Geri (Mark) Royer, California; Tami (John) Haas, California. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Charlie Wilson, Brielle and Braxton Hudson, Tanner Nickerson, Macie Hudson, Katie French and Chelsea McMillan. His is also survived by his sister, Janet Sherrill and special friends Tom and Evie Thiebault. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Inez Hudson, numerous aunts and uncles, his father-in-law, Glen Heavrin and his grandparents.
