Glen C. Heavrin , 84 , of Meridian , died peacefully at his home on Saturday April 15 . Glen was born on May 20, 1921 to Harry and Lavern Johnson Heavrin on a farm near Caldwell. He grew up in Sweet and Ola attending one room county schools and High school in Emmett, Idaho. Glen married Blanche Huskey in Grangeville, Idaho on Oct. 4, 1941. He joined the U.S. Army in January 1942 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant 1st Class in 1945. Glen spend most of his working life in the lumber industry and he retired in 1986 from Ellingson Lumber Co. in Baker City, Ore. as a head sawyer. He moved home to Meridian to enjoy his grandchildren. Glen is survived by his wife, Blanche, two daughters, Candy and (Harold) Hudson of Meridian , Cheri and (Doug) Youngblood of Boise, one son, Chuck and (Mary Ann) Heavrin of Cascade, seven grandchildren, Chip and Vickie Hudson of Nampa, Rock and Joli Hudson of Meridian , Kari and Kent Wilson of Boise, Jeremy and Angie Cowles of Meridian , Darrell Coles and Bobbie Lopp of Caldwell, Chris Heavrin Blakely and Megan Heavrin Blakely of Boise and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carl, George, Frank, and Clinton and one sister, Alice. He was a member of the Orofino Masonic Lodge #69 since 1952 and also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for over 50 years. Glen was a much loved husband, father and grandfather and will be missed dearly. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday April 20 at 11 a.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Visitation for family and friends will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at Accent Funeral Home 1303 N. Main Street, Meridian 888-5833.
