Margaret Amelia Huskey , 86, formerly of Boise, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2001, at a Pocatello long-term care center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, at 2 p.m. at the Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel of Nampa. Burial will follow at the Kuna Cemetery.
Margaret was born on October 1, 1914, in Nampa, Idaho, to William and Reba Mosher Thompson . She was the second of four children. She was raised and educated in Kuna, graduating from Kuna High School in 1933.
She married Floyd W. Huskey June 4, 1939. They made their home on a farm in the Star, Idaho area for the next 20 years. In 1959, they were able to purchase their own farm and moved to Kuna. Floyd preceded her in death in January 1972.
Margaret worked at various jobs over the years. She was employed with the post office, in Boise and in Kuna, during the last years of her working career. A few years before her retirement, Margaret sold the farm and moved into Boise. She lived there until 1998. At that time, she moved to Pocatello to live with her daughter because of ill health.
Margaret enjoyed traveling, playing cards, gardening, ceramics, reading, needlework, fishing and her family and friends. Her grandsons were a special delight for her.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan and Rick Newman of Pocatello; grandsons, Richard and Lisa Newman of Dauphin Island, Alabama, Matthew Newman of Dallas, Texas, Kraig Newman of Moscow, Idaho; one sister, Marie Brown of Kuna; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Dale Thompson , and one sister, Thelma Spielman.
There will be a time of visitation at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 15, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. S., Nampa, Idaho.
