Beula Irene Giles, age 91, born October 2, 1914, passed away March 29, 2006. Our Beloved little Redheaded Firecracker with a sharp wit, keen mind, and a passion for roses and tomatoes, could no longer tend to her garden here on earth. May she revel in the Lord's garden. Beula , a native of Ada County, Idaho, was the sixth of nine children born to Lawson and Ida Savannah Huskey . She moved to Humboldt County in 1942, first living in Fortuna, then settling with her family in Eureka. Beula worked at the Woolen Mills, then operated an Answering Service from the mid 50's until the early 60's. She returned to Boise, Idaho, in 1965. It was there she began a career in the culinary field in which she continued until her retirement. She returned to Eureka in 1996 to be near her daughter and family. Beula is survived by her sisters, Erma Travis, Leona Huskey ; her brother, Leonard Huskey of Boise, Idaho; daughter, Sharon and her son-in law John M Vance III of Eureka; grandchildren, Shelly and Zane MacDonald, Janet and Dale Swanson, Lana Starritt of Eureka, John M. Vance IV and wife Kathy of Redding, CA, Wendy and Bill Pitzner of Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and her beloved cat, "Ringo". Beula was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Gertrude, Loretta, Silas, Harold and Floyd; and her daughter, Gloria Jean Harvey. No services were held with internment March 31, 2006, at Oceanview Cemetery.
