Leonard R. Huskey , 88, of Boise and Meridian, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at his home. Leonard was born on March 28, 1919 in Blue Eye, Mo. a son of Lawson and Savannah Witherspoon Huskey . He graduated from Meridian High School in 1936. Leonard has farmed the local area for most of his life. He bought a farm in 1946 for his parents and it is still being farmed today. Leonard has been the main stay of his family and was generous and loving; ready to help family members, friends, and neighbors. He had a set of values and principles that he never wavered from; he was a man of integrity who settled contracts with a hand shake. If you knew him long enough to get passed his crusty exterior, you would find a generous heart, and dry wit. Leonard loved classic cars, including his 1951 Ford Victoria, his land, and his dog "Cory". The family would like to give a special thank you to At Home Care and Horizon Hospice for their compassionate care of Leonard and his family. Leonard is survived by one sister, Leona Huskey of Boise; several nieces and nephews, and numerous loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold, and Floyd, three sisters, Reta, Beula, and Erma . A visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at Chapel of the Chimes. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 also at Chapel of the Chimes. Interment will follow at Meridian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Idaho 1111 S. Orchard Boise, ID 83705 or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 105 E. Carlton Ave. Meridian, ID 83642, 888-4454.
