Candler - Joan Kathleen Zima, 59, of Candler, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015. A native of Jacksonville, FL, she was a daughter of Gail Johns Byrd and of the late Carlton Dilbon, and step-daughter of the late Woody Byrd. Mrs. Zima attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and The Rock Church of Asheville. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Zima is survived by her husband of 38 years, Chester Zima; daughters, Renee Womble and husband, Robert, and Sherrie Zima; sons, Randy Zima, Daniel Thomas Zima, and Joseph Brandon Zima and wife, Kelly; grandchildren Taylor, Allison, Emily, Raquel and Rex; sister, Karen McNair and husband, Mike; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Dean Cesa officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
