He was preceded by death of his parents Decatur and Arrie Lyles ; brothers Sam, Penny, Decatur ; sisters Gertrude, Nell, Jeanette, Nan, Dora Mae and niece Judy. Survived by his son, Donald William Lyles and his wife Della; grandson, Malachi James; sister-in-law, Mildred Lyles ; nephews, Col. Sammy Lyles and his wife Wanda, Dr. George Webber and his wife Opal; nieces, Nancy Cross and husband Jack, Donna Hawkins, Bobbie Thomas and husband Herb; ex-wife and best friend, Wilma Lyles and step-son Butch Pearson.
