Clara Mae Huskey, age 89, of Huskey Place, Lenoir, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health, Monday, May 18, 2015. She was born March 21, 1926, in Burke County to the late Elmer L. Moody and Etta Braswell Moody. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ermine Shuping and Gilda Icenhour: four brothers, Atlee Moody, Jack Moody, Gary Moody and Donald Moody. Mrs. Huskey was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant from Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Confidence Advent Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, William Huskey of the home; three sons, Steven Huskey and wife Rebecca of Greenville, SC, Barry Huskey and wife Kim of Hickory and Jeffrey Huskey and wife Jane of Lenoir; one brother, David Moody and wife Mary of Springfield, MO; one sister, Pauline Sigmon and husband Grady of Lenoir; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Confidence Advent Christian Church conducted by Rev. Norm Sherwood. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Sigmon, Greg Icenhour, Derek Williams, Jonathan Long, Rex Shuping and Coleman Huskey.
