Knoop , 67, of Amherst, who worked for several local car dealerships, died Sunday (Nov. 23, 2003) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lockport. Knoop was born in Lockport and graduated from Lockport High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He was a member of George F. Lamm Post, American Legion. Knoop had been a driver for Bitterman's Auto Sales and Service in Amherst since 1992. Prior to that, he had worked in sales at Noah's Ark, Sears, National Car Sales, David Cadillac and other companies. His enjoyed freshwater fishing. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, the former Lois B. Schwartz; three daughters, Lynn M. of Cheektowaga, and Kristine M. Steelman and Jennifer D. Lipomi, both of Amherst; a son, James D.
