F. Billie Hines, 99, Kokomo, died at 1:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Windsor Estates Health and Rehab Center in Kokomo. She was born Sept. 16, 1911, in Wilton, Ky., to John Jones and Susan (Troutman) Green. She married William M. Hines on Dec. 15, 1928, and he preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1983.
She graduated from Burea High School in Kentucky and was a homemaker. She had been a member of Withamsville Church of Christ in Ohio and Chapel Hill Christian Church and Fairfield Christian Church, both in Kokomo.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Lindsay (Jerry) D’Agostino, Kokomo, Douglas (Judy) Porter, Kokomo, Robin (Gabe) Rodriguez, Las Crues, N.M., and David (Cheryl) Porter, Kinston, N.C.; a foster daughter, Yvonne Bowlbey, Fort Wayne; 15 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Gloria Porter; and one grandson, John Porter.
The family gives a special thanks to Kim Shaffer for her special care to Granny at the nursing home.
Services are 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Stout and Son Funeral Home Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Keith Cramer officiating. A private burial is Tuesday in Myers Cemetery in Goshen, Ohio. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gilead House in Kokomo.
