Whitley Raven , Oct. 18 , 1990– Oct. 10 , 2013 , passed away from here to her Heavenly home after a long battle with brain cancer. She fought with great courage and dignity for 17 months and she fought until she took her last breath, surrounded by her family. Whitley is preceded in death by her father, Robby Stinnett; papaws, Pug Martin and Molley Stinnett. She is survived by mother and stepfather, Melissa and Kimble Boring; mamaws, Daisy Martin and Carol Stinnett; brothers, Jared Sparks, Travis McDowell, Wes McDowell Jr., Noah McDowell, and Micah Davis. Also, many cousins, aunts, and uncles from the Martin, Willocks, Stinnett and Boring families; special family, Neal and Teresa Owensby; best friends, Michelle Nicole Johnson, Nancy Feezell, and Clyde and Peefer. Whitley is loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 , at Lower Chilhowee Primitive Baptist Church (Red Top), with Rev. Ronnie and Steve Whitehead officiating and burial to follow. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 , at Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.memorialfuneralhomemaryville.com
