Avery " Kent " Huskey , 42, of Old Mission Road, Cherokee, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Yellowhill Baptist Church. The Revs. James Red Bradley and Timothy James officiated. Burial was in Bradley Family Cemetery.
A native of Florida, he lived most of his life in Jackson County. He was a member of Sequoyah Baptist Church and was employed with Verizon telephone company in Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by by his daughter, Clarysta Huskey .
Surviving are his wife, Sharri Pleasant Huskey ; his parents, Robert Bruce Huskey and Clara Bradley Huskey , both of Cherokee; three sons, James Pheasant, Cory Pheasant and Elias Cade Huskey , all of the home; two daughters, Hope Huskey of Asheville and Nataya Huskey of the home; and one brother, Nick Huskey of Cherokee.
Moody Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
