Larry “Boo” Johnson, age 44, from Vian, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015. Larry was born on Feb. 27, 1971, to George and Helen Johnson in Muskogee. On June 27, 1993, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Misty Gates.
Larry worked for Fort Howard for 16 years in Muskogee and then Larry and Misty owned and operated the Napa Store in Gore. After the death of his wife in October of 2011, Larry closed the Napa store and focused on his two daughters. Following his dream to honor his wife, Misty Johnson, Larry and Shannon Reheard just recently opened R&J Race Engines. You could often times find Larry at a local racetrack. He had a passion for racing. Larry loved hunting, working in the shop and spending time with his daughters and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, George Johnson; and wife, Misty (Gates) Johnson.
Larry leaves behind to cherish his memories, his mother, Helen Johnson of Vian; two daughters, Shelby Johnson and Autumn “Mowgli” Johnson, both of the home; two brothers, Paul Johnson of Louisiana and Lawrence Johnson and wife, Sheila of Sallisaw; two sisters, Rhonda Bryant and husband, Jerry of Arkansas and Gracie Gates of Gore; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at Gates Family Cemetery in Gore under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home.
