- Frederick Locke and Nancy were listed in the 1840 Federal Census of Sevier
County, Tennessee. They had one child in the household: one female age 5 and
under. Then in 1850 they were again listed in the Federal Census of Sevier
County, Tennessee. There were now six children at home: Mary, age 10;
William, age 8; Sarah, age7; Daniel, age 5; Martha, age 4; and David, age 1.
Frederick and Michel were listed in the 1860 Federal Census of Sevier County,
Tennessee. There were nine children in the household: Daniel, age 15; Martha,
age 14; David, age 12; Nathan, age 10; John B., age 8; Ruel, age 7; Nancy, age
5; Clarissa, age 3; and Amanda, age 6/12.
Again in 1870 Frederick Locke and Michel were listed in the Federal Census of
Sevier County, Tennessee. They had eleven children in the household then:
Daniel G., age 25; Martha A., age 24; David H., age 21; Nathaniel W., age 19;
John J., age 18; Ruel A., age 17; Nancy A., age 15; Clersy A., age 13; Paul P.,
age 6; William A., age 5; and Michel E. C., age 2.
Frederick Locke and his wife Michel again appeared in the 1880 Federal Census
of Sevier County, Tennessee. There were only four children in the household
now: Daniel G., age 31; Ruel M., age 26; Paul P., age 16; and Ellen C., age
11.
