Dan Wesley Hughes, a resident of Sulphur was born December 24, 1928 in Dolberg, Oklahoma to Preston & Annie (Clement) Hughes. He passed away Saturday April 9, 2011 at Okla. City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years 3 months and 15 days. Dan had lived in the Dolberg-Sulphur all his life. He had worked in the oil fields and as a farmer & rancher. Dan and Alma Jean Chandler were married on May 17, 1948 in Sulphur. She preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by his daughter & son-in-law - Davon & Stan Spivey of Lindsay, Ok; son & daughter-in-law - Danny & Lee Hughes of Sulphur, Ok; son - Don Hughes of Sulphur, Ok; brother - Howard "Rocky" Hughes of Sulphur, Ok; sister - Ruby Whetzel of California; 6 grandchildren - Curt Tully, Lacey Hill, Kristie Stidman, Mandie Guffey, Stasha Mann, and Cole Hughes; 8 great-grandchildren [S147] Find a Grave, (Memorial: 68249831).
