Services for Alvin Glenn Blankinship were held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Wynnewood. Officiating the services was Father Russell Hewes of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sulphur.
Alvin was born on July 13, 1932, in Granite to Cyrus Epps and Beeda (Chandler) Blankinship. He passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at his home in Davis at the age of 76.
Alvin and LaDonna Jean Cradduck were married July 13, 1956, in Pauls Valley. Alvin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired auto and aircraft mechanic. Alvin had a love for motorcycles, especially the Harley Davidson. He always enjoyed "tinkering" with anything mechanical, whether it be something as small as a lawn mower or even as large as an airplane. He also liked going boating. Alvin was a member of the Catholic faith and attended the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sulphur.
Alvin is survived by his wife, LaDonna; two sons, Tracy Andrew and Terry Alan Blankinship; four grandchildren, Kalina, Kyle, Stasia and Ryan, and one great-granddaughter, Taylor. Preceding him in death were his parents; one granddaughter, Carina; one sister, Vera Lewis, and two brothers, Oscar and Ovitt Blankinship.
Services were "entrusted to" Hale's Funeral Home of Davis.
