He married Velma Jean CHANDLER on Oct 2, 1948, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Velma CARTER of the home; two daughters, Neve and her husband Steve, and Sheila; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Ellen. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Maryan Dell CARTER on Apr. 6, 1966, two sisters, Eula RIGGS and Colleen ANDERSON; and three brothers, Ben CARTER, Willard CARTER, and E.C.
