Sherman G. "Shorty," mechanic, died Sunday. Graveside services 11 a.m. Wednesday, White Cemetery, Gore (Parks Brothers).

Sherman G. "Shorty" Mendenhall was born on April 13, 1948 in Gore, Oklahoma and departed this life on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at his home near Prague, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years. Sherman was the son of Paul and Irene Chandler Mendenhall. He lived north of Prague in the Arlington community for the past 14 years. Prior to moving to Prague, he had lived in Muskogee for several years. Sherman was in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam during his military career. He was a member of the Purple Heart Association. Sherman was a mechanic and welder. He married Sandy Carver on April 19, 1969 in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Sherman was preceded in death by his mother and two nephews. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Mendenhall of the home.1 son, Paul Glenn Mendenhall of the home.1 daughter, Lisa Sue Mendenhall of the home.Father, Paul Mendenhall of Porum, Oklahoma.1 brother and sister-in-law, Dannie & Regina Mendenhall of Lawton, Oklahoma. 1 sister and brother-in-law, Marsha Rene & Robbie Roberston of Porum, Oklahoma 2 brothers-in-law & their wives, Ray & Mary Carver, Prague, Okla.
