Wade Ellis Massey , 53 , of Woodstock , Georgia , passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Wade was a native of Murphy, North Carolina and a 1979 graduate of Murphy High School. Wade had served in the United States Marine Corps. He was the son of James E. and Shirley English Massey of Ball Ground, Georgia , formerly of Murphy. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Wade H. Massey and Mabel E. Massey , Azalee Price English, and Melvin E. "Tobe" English. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Dawn Massey Hoard and husband, Spence Hoard of Canton, Georgia ; step-niece, Ellen Hoard Floyd of Cartersville, Georgia ; aunt, Brenda E. Stilwell and husband, Robert Stilwell of Murphy; uncle, Jim English and wife, Joyce English of Murphy; great aunt, Aleen P. Keener of Murphy; great uncle, Dale Price and wife, Betty Price of Murphy; and cousins, Melissa L. Stilwell, Caleb English and wife, Krysta English, Gavin English, Levi English and wife, Hannah English, Debra Keener England, Brandy England Joyner and husband, Ben Joyner, and Will and Amelia Joyner. A graveside memorial will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Sunset Cemetery in Murphy with his brother-in-law, Spence Hoard speaking. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Marine Corps League, Detachment No. 1011, Marble, North Carolina and the United States Marine Corps.
