WHITEHEAD , VICTOR BRUCE - age 66 , of Knoxville , TN and formerly of Rocky Mount , NC , passed away April 7 , 2014 . Bruce graduated as Salutatorian from Bearden High School in 1965. He was also a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Tennessee Law School. He then worked as an attorney of Hardee's Food Corporation in Rocky Mount for many years. Bruce was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden, Knoxville , and of First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount , where he sang in the choir. He was also active in Jaycees in Rocky Mount for many years. He enjoyed 60's music, trivia, playing piano, and computer programming. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Whitehead of Knoxville , his mother-in-law Rubye Carroll of Knoxville , and his brother-in-law Bob Carroll of Sweetwater, TN . He is survived by his three children: Jennifer (Keith) Floyd of Springfield, VA; David Whitehead ( and Karen Walker) of Rocky Mount , NC , and Vicki (Chris) Green of Crestview Hills, KY; his five grandchildren, Emily Whitehead, Edward and Rachel Floyd and Xander and Siana Green; his sister Nancy (Bob) Trusty of Atlanta, GA; his nephews Ryan and Drew Trusty; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Gerry and Nick Emmons of Selmer, TN , Nancy and Mike Taylor of Knoxville ; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Bruce is also survived by his former wife of 24 years, Diane Carroll Whitehead of Rocky Mount , NC . A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 , 12:00, noon, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. Jim Henry, officiating.
