(February 25, 1938 - July 21, 2016) Ralph Wesley Sharpe, of Knoxville, died Thursday, July 21, 2016. He was born on February, 25, 1938 in Newport, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Sharpe; three aunts, Lura Mae Sharpe, Sena Sharpe Lillard, and Hazel Sharpe Dusek, who raise him; and cousins, Jack Lillard and Ronnie Sharpe; He is survived by special friends, Robert and Rocio Neira. He was a 1956 graduate of Cocke County High School where he was Valedictorian of his class. He received an AB and MA degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Tennessee and taught English at Morristown High School, Morristown-Hamblen High School West, and Walters State Community College. He retired from Oak Ridge Laboratory where he worked as a technical publications analyst. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Union Cemetery, Newport. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 9076 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville.
